Open House

 OPEN HOUSE

Traditionally, Open House is held the third week of September every school year. This is an opportunity for parents to meet face-to-face with their child's teacher and to hear from the school principal and the PTSA.  Personally, I think Open House is largely a waste of time. I teach high school. Less than 10% of parents show for Open House. Perhaps this is different for the lower grade levels. Which brings me to this!  What are your thoughts on Open House? Is this practice still necessary for all grade levels? Have you found this meet and greet to be beneficial to you or simply a waste of your time. Do you even attend Open House? What are your thoughts on a virtual Open House?

justathought

I never imagined I'd still be single and without children at the age of 38. I can handle not having children but I am struggling with being single. I read an article in Christian Single, according to the 2000 U.S. Census, one-fourth of all households-some 27 million-consisted of one person, compared with 10 percent in 1950. Where are all these people? I feel so disconnected, so alone and so isolated. Who can relate?

justathought

I received Beside Blessings by Charles Swindoll from a co-worker for Christmas.
I am quoting something I read this morning-
"...things do not 'just happen.' Ours is not a random, whistle-in-the-dark universe.
There is a God-arranged plan for this world of ours, which includes a specific plan for you."
How can I be sure about God's plan for my life?
